Amy received her BSW from the University of Northern Iowa; she attended Trinity International University for her Master’s in Counseling Psychology and received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Iowa. She has over 25 years’ experience working with adolescents, families, individuals and groups in various settings including residential, intensive outpatient, private practice, and mental health agencies. Amy has worked in private practice since 2009. She has received extensive training and specializes in couples therapy, she is a “pro-marriage, marriage friendly” therapist.
In addition, Amy is a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC). She has worked with law enforcement for the past 8 years. She has received training for the unique trauma and mental health concerns of law enforcement, first responders and those in high risk professions. Amy contacts with multiple local agencies to provide resiliency training, critical incident debriefings and on-going counseling needs.
